Something about this image is really working for me this morning. Plus, I still want cafe style lights like this in my own backyard some day.

Can’t wait to hop back on one of the American Airlines MD-80s that were built in the ’70s. More on Aloha Airlines Flight 243 and how the fuselage tore open in air in 1988 here. It was 22 years ago tomorrow.

1) The scorch marks on the bottom of the shuttle are more prevalent than I thought they would be in space. I would have expected this when it returned.
2) The ripples in the ocean are surprisingly clear from the image.
3) I don’t think I would want to be an astronaut. To come back to Earth and have to try and explain things and see anything as interesting ever again would be difficult.
